Files: violetbsd-11.0-a2560me.img.gz — shareable compressed 16 GiB whole-disk image violetbsd-11.0-a2560me.flash — GENERIC #23 flash kernel (separate installation) violetbsd-11.0-a2560me.SHA256 — file checksums Target: A2560Me with 68LC060, 66.67 MHz FPGA Build 67. Root is mSATA ld3a; swap is 512 MiB. Includes native userland, X11/startx, GGE DAC line-out audio, and preinstalled nano/pkgin/git-base plus dependencies. First-boot package configuration runs locally. Automatic DHCP, SSH and default disk expansion are disabled. The user DIP 2 growth option is retained. Use the native Go violetBSD Image Writer (one executable per platform): select the .img.gz or .img, select the external destination, then Write and confirm erasure. The writer automatically installs unique private entropy and verifies the entire write. Use a 32 GB or larger drive. See the writer README for platform prerequisites and validation status. The Linux write-sdcard.sh command also performs automatic provisioning. Generic raw image writers require the manual entropy fallback documented in violetbsd-entropy.md. Flash kernel installation remains a separate operation. First boot: - Log in as root at the local console; set a password with passwd. - Configure networking as needed (manual DHCP: dhcpcd -4 -1 -t 20 smsh0). - This public image intentionally has no SSH host keys, authorized keys or secret entropy seed. No personal login key is installed. - When using the violetBSD writer, entropy is provisioned automatically. No manual seeding is needed after installation. An early kernel warning may precede the normal disk-seed load. SSH remains disabled by default. - SSH credentials and root authorized_keys must be configured by the owner. Root SSH uses keys by default. Do not distribute a used/personalized disk image after keys, seeds or credentials have been installed. Validation: image/seed integration tests and drive-filter fixture tests pass. This rebuilt public image has not yet been written or booted on the board. macOS and Windows writer backends require native acceptance testing.
